The deal, in plain terms.

1. Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and NotchFrame. By installing or using the software, or by using this website, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.

2. Your licence to use the software

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use NotchFrame on devices you control, for personal or commercial editing work. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the software, attempt to reverse engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded, or remove any notices from it.

3. Automated and AI-assisted processing

This section matters more than the rest, so it is worth reading properly.

NotchFrame uses artificial intelligence and machine-learning systems, including third-party AI models, to do its work. The transcript of your footage is analysed by those systems, which then generate the edit decisions the software applies — which passages to remove, where to place emphasis, how to shape pacing, and how to derive style parameters from any reference material you supply.

Output from these systems is probabilistic. Like any first pass, it will sometimes remove something you wanted, keep something you did not, or misjudge the intent of a passage — which is why the software is built around a review step, and why what you correct there is what it learns from. You are responsible for reviewing any edit before you publish, deliver or rely on it. NotchFrame is a first-pass tool for a human editor, not a replacement for your judgment.

We give no warranty that automated output will be accurate, complete, consistent between runs, or fit for any particular purpose. Models and processing are updated over time, which is how the software improves; it also means results on identical footage may differ from one release to the next.

To produce an edit plan, transcript text from your footage is sent to our processing service and to a frontier AI model accessed through a cloud provider. We do not store it afterwards or use it for training; the cloud provider handles it under its own data terms, which we do not control. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is and is not transmitted, and what to weigh if the words in your footage are sensitive.

4. Your content

You keep all rights in the footage you bring to NotchFrame and in the edits it produces from that footage. We claim no ownership of either.

You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the service for you: to process your transcript and edit metadata in order to generate and deliver your edit, and to diagnose faults. That licence ends when the processing does.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for having the rights to the material you use. Specifically:

• You must own, or be licensed to use, the footage and audio you edit — including any music you cut against.
• Any reference video you point the software at for style analysis must be material you can lawfully access.
• NotchFrame measures a reference into style parameters such as cut rhythm, pacing and graphics grammar; it does not copy or reuse frames from it. You remain responsible for how you use the resulting edit, including any resemblance to the original creator's work.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use NotchFrame to produce or distribute material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, that harasses or defames a person, or that is designed to deceive — including edits presented as an unaltered record of events when they are not. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or circumvent limits on the service.

7. Plans and payment

There will be a free tier. Heavy use, or many Styles in parallel, will at some point reach a cap that sits behind a subscription; that cap and its price are not settled yet. Plans and their prices will be announced at launch, and anything you are charged will be disclosed clearly before you pay. We may change plan features or pricing in the future; changes will not apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

8. Availability and changes

The software is updated regularly. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any part of the service that depends on our infrastructure.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NotchFrame is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability or right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost footage, arising from your use of the software. Our total liability for any claim relating to NotchFrame is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid us nothing in that period, to one hundred US dollars.

Keep your own backups of source footage. The software is designed to leave your originals untouched, but no software is faultless.

11. Termination

You may stop using NotchFrame at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability — will do so.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and material changes will be signalled in the app. Continuing to use NotchFrame after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

NotchFrame is operated from the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the federal laws of the United States that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

None of that removes a protection your own law gives you and does not let you waive: if you are a consumer outside the United States, you keep any mandatory rights, and any right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence, that the law where you live gives you regardless of what this section says.
